In the northern hemisphere, on December 21, 2021, the earth reaches its lowest inclination toward the sun and therefore receives the least amount of sunlight in the day. Since then, the sun seems to stop for three days and then “reborn” on 24 December in its apparent transit across the earth’s celestial vault.

Freemasons, at every Winter Solstice we celebrate light, rebirth and transformation. It is a date in which natural energies are renewed, in which, symbolically, the faith of our ideals is reinforced, it validates the hope that our actions will have effective positive results and in which we reaffirm that our way of relating to others is based on fraternal love.
